As the phoenix slowly arises from the ashes and begins to morph… you find yourself wondering, what in the world is that stench? It is a horrible bouquet but one that is captivating and also familiar and welcoming. You want to turn away but not unlike the smell of gasoline, burning rubber or a particularly foul “corta`ran de el queso’. You can not. You squint, your eyes water and you think you hear a “cocksucker” in the distance and the outline of that fucked up cowboy hat but you don’t.

The ashes; Acid Cabaret--- the long laid to rest hit underground pro/am interactive performance/variety show of days past. The odor; Spass Guerilla--- a brand new Acid Cabaret inspired collaborative live theater project on on select Tuesdays at 12 Galaxies in San Francisco

Wikipedia tells us that Spass Guerilla is German for "fun (or joke) guerrilla” and that It is associated with pranks, hoaxes, and buffoonery.” You see where we are going with this.

Hosted by the very hot, the very sexy and the very twistedly infamous Katy Bell (Cyclicide); Spass Guerilla is an amateur/variety/freak/gong show of sorts. In the vein of the Acid Cabaret we throw out a survival of the fittest open-mic slant to the chaos with scheduled as well as impromptu acts vying to win fabulous prizes. Spass Guerilla a medium to showcase your weirder performance ideas, to give a voice and a stage to those bold enough to step up to the plate and swing. Spass Guerilla is for those aspiring stand up comedians who don’t want to play the games of trying to get into those clubs to get to perform, that demented set of songs that you’ve been to shy to perform live, the exotic dance routine that you’ve never been bold enough to do in a strip club because you are not a Chippen Dale or stripper type, and the sky is the limit all you have to do is bring it.

Spass Guerilla emphasizes the “i” in variety and the “me” in amateur, though “we’s” and “pro’s” are certainly most welcome. We encourage you to bring what you’ve got locked up in that closet and let it all hang out. Spass Guerilla urges you to get in touch with your inner-dork and come let your freak flag fly.
